Today I am back with something more crafty again. It’s been so long since I’ve done anything like this, which is a shame as I do like to do arts and crafts, but at the same time I have to be inspired for it.

And this one came about thanks to a ‘team building’ exercise day at work!

Different teams were doing all manor of things from learning how to jive, to aromatherapy, to photography, to IT. All sorts of stuff. And we were given: ‘Make a box’.

That was all we were told before we arrived  – we didn’t know if was a wood craft session or what – when we got there it was an origami lesson in how to make a paper box; and the whole team loved it!

I can see these are going to feature heavily in my Christmas present wrapping this year – they just look so neat and cute. And it’s a bit more special as they’re hand made – which makes anything better when it’s made with care and love.

You’ll need:

  • Square sheets of paper 20″x20″ for bottom, 21″x21″ for the lid
  • Scissors
  • Glue and pencil (optional)

Now follow the step by step photos to make your own. I marked out most of the fold lines to make it easier to see them in the photos.

The red markings are where you need to cut along and out.

And repeat again for the top, or bottom, whichever one you haven’t just made.

Here’s one I made earlier!

If you use a pretty paper or cover the paper  with fabric then there’s no need to use wrapping paper.

Now all that’s left is for you to fill them with your home-made gifts.

Fancy giving it a go? Be sure to share your pics if you do, I’d love to see them.

  1. Wow, I love this one! Thanks for the tutorial, I am looking for creative ideas to package my Scentsy samples in to gift them to new customers! 🙂

    • You’re welcome! Once you get the hang of making them, they’re really quick to make and look effective too! Good luck : ) Oh, and I’d love to see a photo of your packaging when you’ve done some!!

      • Thank you! I definitely will! I think I will use last seasons magazine covers to make these! That should look so awesome 🙂 I appreciate it, and I will definitely show you!! 🙂
